Our Region's First Surgical Implant of StimRouter

Dr. Hemant Kalia of Rochester Regional Health recently completed the region’s first surgical implant of the StimRouter Neuromodulation System.

Many of Dr. Hemant Kalia’s patients struggle with chronic pain. He’s helping to change their lives by bringing new, drug-free pain management alternatives to the region. Buffalo Business First featured Kalia, an interventional spine and pain medicine specialist, in their special insert highlighting innovation and the future of health care.

The article highlights his work in nerve stimulation therapy. Recently, he completed the region’s first surgical implant of the StimRouter Neuromodulation System. The implant is placed during a 20-minute procedure performed in the doctor’s office, and the device allows patients to control their pain signals with a tiny remote.
