Couple looking at medical bills

COVID-19 has placed a giant roadblock in many people’s plans. As caregivers, we are empathetic to all hardships, including the financial hardships that our patients may be experiencing. Rochester Regional Health’s financial aid programs are designed to provide our patients flexibility so we can help you and your family cover your healthcare costs.

Options available to you

  • Zero-interest extended payment plans
  • Charity care programs
  • Insurance enrollment opportunities
  • Cost estimator tool

If you have concerns about paying for a clinical visit or a procedure, please call us at 585-922-1900 so we can discuss your options during this stressful time.

1. Zero-Interest Payment Plans

Payment plans help you spread out your payments across several months or years, depending on your situation and the amount you owe. Our customer service department can discuss any issues you might have concerning your healthcare costs and will help set up a payment plan that best fits your needs.

Common question: What if I already have a payment plan?

If you already have a payment plan that was established before or during the coronavirus pandemic, and you need to make changes or extend the plan, we can help with that too. If your circumstances have changed since starting a payment plan, or you’d like to discuss a new payment plan, call our customer service team at 585-922-1900 for assistance.

2. Charity Care Programs

Our Charity Care Programs are designed to assist all patients facing challenges, be it COVID-related or other issues in their life. We'll work individually with each patient to obtain any and all benefits that suit their particular situation.

Our Charity Care Programs can help both the uninsured and the insured, helping you with your co-pays and deductibles as well. Call 585-922-1001 and select “option 2.”

3. Insurance Enrollment Opportunities

We have an experienced team of financial case managers who help patients with enrollment opportunities that are available.

New York State has expanded its open enrollment period since COVID-19 began, and our case managers can help you enroll.

There are several different enrollment options, such as Child Health Plus or a Qualified Health Plan. Call 585 922-1001 and select “option 3” for more information and enrollment assistance.

4. Cost Estimator Line

Our cost estimator line is a great tool you can use to request a price estimate for your planned hospital visit or physician services. Patients can call 585 922-COST (2678) and discuss an estimate for a procedure to allow patients to better plan for their financial responsibility.

If you are uninsured and/or have a high deductible insurance plan, we strongly encourage you to reach out to our cost estimator line. We will provide you with the estimated cost of the procedure so you have this information before your procedure and can make an informed decision regarding your medical care. We can also refer you to our Financial Counseling team, if applicable.
