Rochester Regional Health will benefit from funding provided by KeyBank to help sustain its Nursing Workforce Development Program.

A $100,000 donation by KeyBank will go toward financial assistance to students at the Isabella Graham Hart School of Practical Nursing with Rochester Regional Health’s College of Health Careers.

Supporting a more diverse workforce

Students who attend the College of Health Careers work toward achieving their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN) degrees. The College of Health Careers provides flexible schedules, daycare assistance, and other benefits to eliminate barriers for students and create a pathway to further their medical careers with the Rochester Regional Health system.

“Access to financial support is critical to provide every person with an equal opportunity to reach their career goals. In healthcare especially, we need to create better access to create a more diverse workforce to match our diverse patient population. This grant will help us do that,” said Deborah Stamps, EdD, president of the College of Health Careers.

“For decades, Rochester Regional Health’s workforce has provided our community with compassionate healing solutions that matter, and nurses have always been at the forefront of their commitment to our region,” said Phil Muscato, KeyBank Rochester Marker President and Commercial Sales Leader. “All of us at KeyBank are honored to support these valued caregivers at RRH and provide them with the opportunity to continue learning, growing and supporting our community with best in-class healthcare.”

The investment is part of KeyBank’s National Community Benefits Plan designed to help communities reach social, economic, and racial equity. Since 2018, 38 individuals have participated in the KeyBank Nursing Scholars Program. The majority of those individuals are still employed with Rochester Regional Health.
