POTSDAM, NY – Certified Physician Assistant Sharisse Smith has joined Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Cardiology team. Her office is located on the Hospital’s main campus in the Leroy Outpatient Center, 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam.
Ms. Smith is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She earned her Physician Assistant Studies degree from D’Youville College, Buffalo, NY, where she was Magna Cum Laude.
“I practiced as a PA for a little over three years in Las Vegas, NV, at a preventative health and wellness clinic. After the birth of our first child, my husband and I talked about making a move,” Ms. Smith said. “We decided it would be best for us to move back to his hometown, Potsdam, NY, where we could plant our roots and be closer to his family.
“We have been enjoying the peace and quiet of the region, and exploring the great outdoors the North Country has to offer,” she added.
Ms. Smith comes to Canton-Potsdam Hospital with experience as a Senior Physician Assistant. She is skilled in interpreting EKGs, examining patients and establishing a plan for their treatment, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and providing vaccinations and injections.
