SLH Launching New Website

NORTH COUNTRY - St. Lawrence Health’s website users will be greeted with a brand new site Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2022. The site includes information on Canton-Potsdam, Gouverneur, and Massena hospitals and all of their medical facilities and offices.

The Marketing & Communications teams from St. Lawrence Health (SLH) and Rochester Regional Health (RRH) have been working together over the past several months to create a new website that will be a “microsite” of RRH’s existing site (https://www.rochesterregional.org/). The SLH site will remain accessible as https://www.stlawrencehealthsystem.org.

“The benefits of having our site integrated within Rochester’s website are numerous. Visitors to the site now have the advantage of navigating a larger, more comprehensive library of medical care both locally and across the Rochester region. Earlier this year, the careers and recruitment portions of the SLH site fully integrated into Rochester’s site, and have proven to be much more efficient in the navigation and previewing of job opportunities throughout the larger health system,” said SLH Director of Marketing and Communications Tracy Jarvis.

Many options on the home page will look familiar. Users will still be able to immediately find information to Pay Your Bill, access the MyCare Patient Portal, Donate to the SLH Foundation, Find a Provider, search Locations, review Services, find Patient & Visitor details, and learn about Education & Research opportunities provided by the system.

When searching providers within the new site, visitors can narrow their selections down to a more granular level. For example, searches can be refined to just SLH providers or more broadly include all specialists across the system; affording individuals the opportunity to learn more about a specific referral and to view options for advanced specialty care.

Visitors to the new microsite also have access to Health Hive, a compilation of health care articles written and/or reviewed by RRH and SLH providers. Individuals can choose from more than 20 different topics to follow and while in the Hive, sign up for the Health Hive newsletter to receive updates and tips to assist individuals live longer, healthier lives.

While the former SLH website did offer patients access to their health records through a number of links to different portals, the affiliation with RRH has afforded local patients even more access through one easy-to-use MyCare portal. MyCare, which is accessible via one single link on the new mircosite, allows patients to communicate with their provider offices, access test results, manage most appointments, renew prescriptions, view maps and directions, review personal immunization history, view education videos, and pay bills online.

When searching a specific location without knowing the name of an office, SLH recommends going to the Locations page and selecting “search all locations,” then, scroll down until you come to the map. At this point you can either expand the map to see each location by clicking on the little white square in the upper right corner of the map, or choose the List View (also in the upper right corner of the map) where all SLH hospitals and offices will be listed with a photo and contact information.

“Although our affiliation with RRH is still relatively new (January 2021), we are focused on bringing as many benefits of the affiliation to the St. Lawrence community as quickly as possible without compromising the safety and quality of care we deliver,” Ms. Jarvis said.

“A few of our most recent accomplishments include the launch of our nationally acclaimed electronic medical record system, EPIC’s CareConnect, which positions our patients to have their comprehensive health records virtually with them whenever they seek care from any other facility utilizing EPIC software; acquisition of New York State’s approval for the creation of our Regional Care Pavillion, which will offer expanded emergency services and single-occupancy private inpatient rooms, of which our community so desperatly needs; and, most recently, the launch of our new microsite, which shares all of the healthcare services and resources our patients now have access to. Over the next few months and years, we will continue to share updates on some of the clinical integration efforts that are also underway with RRH,” she added.

St. Lawrence Health encourages its patients and community members to browse around the new website to become familiar with it, and remember to bookmark https://www.stlawrencehealthsystem.org so you can easily find it for future reference.
