POTSDAM, NY – Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) Casey Unruh has joined the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecological team. Her office is located in the Helen Snell Cheel Medical Campus, 49 Lawrence Avenue, Potsdam.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing/concentration of Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner degree from Georgetown University, Washington, DC. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.
NP Unruh noted she is thrilled and excited to be among the newest providers with St. Lawrence Health (SLH).
"One of the many reasons I felt like SLH was a good fit for me is because of its strong ties to the community. It is such an important value; so much so that I only want to work for a health system that values people and strives to improve health,” she said.
“Not only is the North Country beautiful, but being part of St. Lawrence Health/Canton-Potsdam Hospital feels like such a treasure. I’m excited to be a part of this healthcare family,” NP Unruh added.
She comes to CPH with over five years of experience in women’s health, including providing her patients with holistic and compassionate care. Most recently, she worked as an Obstetrics Registered Nurse Case Manager, collaborating with medical doctors, behavioral health services, and a community healthcare worker at a critical access facility.
NP Unruh further served as the Medical Clinic Leader with Youth With A Mission Medical Ships in Townsville, Australia, and Papua, New Guinea. She also worked as a student nurse with the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, AK.
